Letting go of dieting...

Rejecting the dieting mentality is the first principle of Intuitive eating and that's really because dieting and diet culture really just muddle everything up (physically and mentally)
To learn to honour your body's hunger cues, to make peace with food so that ALL foods fit and to respect your body and find joy in movement, you have to begin to let go of your body being the enemy. Your body holds YOU and it's the only one you've got. Even so, this is not an easy process and it takes time but it is well worth it.
First step? Take a look at your own dieting history and consider how dieting efforts have affected you (physically, psychologically, socially etc) and also whether your weight changes lasted. Then think about the positives of letting go of dieting. What might your life look like?
